Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect only what we need to help you find a home, we never sell your details, and a developer hears from us only when you decide to visit their project. This policy explains the details, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.

1. Who we are

HeyPlots ("HeyPlots", "we", "us") is a property advisory service based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. We help buyers shortlist, visit and buy new-launch and under-construction homes. For the personal data described in this policy, HeyPlots is the Data Fiduciary: we decide why and how it is used.

This policy covers heyplots.com, our contact form, and the calls, WhatsApp messages and emails that follow from it.

2. What we collect

Details you give us

  • Contact details: your name and phone or WhatsApp number, and your email if you write to us.
  • What you are looking for: budget range, preferred areas, home size, and when you want to move in.
  • Conversations: what you tell us on calls, WhatsApp or email while we help you, such as projects you like and site visits you plan.

Details collected automatically

  • Technical data: when you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard server logs such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages requested. We use these to keep the site running and secure.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive documents such as Aadhaar, PAN or bank details through the website. If a purchase later needs documents, the developer or bank collects them directly under their own policies.

3. Why we use it

  • To call or message you back about your enquiry.
  • To prepare your shortlist and written project briefs.
  • To arrange and accompany site visits you ask for.
  • To help with negotiation, paperwork, loan coordination and possession, if you go ahead.
  • To answer your questions and handle complaints.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam or misuse.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax and real estate regulations.

We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to helping you buy a home.

When you submit our form, or message or call us, you consent to HeyPlots using your details for the purposes above. This includes contacting you about your enquiry by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email, even if your number is registered on the National Do Not Call (NCPR) register.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: reply "STOP" on WhatsApp, tell us on a call, or email info@heyplots.com. We will then stop contacting you and stop using your data, except where the law requires us to keep it. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.

5. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data, and we never add you to a developer's marketing list.

  • Developers and their sales teams: only when you decide to visit or book a project, and only what they need to register your visit (usually your name, phone number and visit date).
  • Service providers who work for us: website hosting, our customer relationship (CRM) system, and email and messaging services such as WhatsApp. They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
  • Banks or loan partners: only if you ask us to coordinate a home loan, and only with your go-ahead.
  • Authorities: when the law requires it, for example a valid request from a court, regulator or the police.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your details while you are actively searching with us and for up to three years after our last contact, so we can help if you come back. After that, or sooner if you ask us to erase it, we delete it, unless a law requires us to keep it longer (for example, records of a completed purchase). Security logs are kept for at least one year, as the rules require.

7. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal data we hold about you, how we use it, and who we have shared it with.
  • Correct, complete or update anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Erase your data when it is no longer needed, or when you withdraw consent.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as explained above.
  • Resolve a grievance about how we handle your data.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.

Email info@heyplots.com from the phone number or email we have on file, or tell us on WhatsApp. We may ask a question to confirm it is you. We aim to respond within 7 days, and always within the time the law allows.

8. How we protect it

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your details is limited to the people who are helping you, and our providers are chosen for their security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

9. Cookies, analytics and browser storage

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: which pages they visit, roughly where they are (city level), the device and browser, and actions such as sending the form or tapping WhatsApp. It uses cookies and a random identifier, not your name or phone number, and we never send it the details you type into the form. Google Analytics does not store full IP addresses. We have switched off Google's optional data sharing. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies. The site also stores a small preference in your browser, for example to remember that you closed the chat message. If we add advertising tools later, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent.

10. Children

HeyPlots is meant for adults buying a home. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, email info@heyplots.com and we will delete them.

11. Data stored outside India

Some of our service providers, such as our website host, may store or process data on servers outside India. We use them only as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act permits, and never in a country the Government of India has restricted.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you directly before it applies to you.

13. Contact and grievances

For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, write to our Grievance Officer at info@heyplots.com, or message us on WhatsApp. We will acknowledge it and resolve it as quickly as we can, and always within the time the law allows.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
